Terms and Conditions of Sale
Last updated: October 20, 2026
1. General Information
Welcome to Artifice.
These Terms and Conditions of Sale apply to purchases made through our online store at www.artifice.store.
The website is operated by ARTIFICE., a French single-member limited liability company (EURL), registered under SIRET number 990 981 169 00016.
By placing an order, you acknowledge that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions of Sale.
Our Refund Policy, Shipping Policy and Privacy Policy provide additional information about your purchases and the use of our website.
These terms apply to online purchases made by consumers. Sales to professional retailers may be subject to separate agreements.
2. Products and Availability
We make every effort to present our products accurately, including their colours, designs, materials, measurements and main characteristics.
Slight colour differences may occur depending on screen settings and lighting conditions.
Product descriptions, available sizes, composition information and relevant details are provided on each product page.
Some Artifice pieces are produced in limited quantities and may sell out.
If an item becomes unavailable after you have placed an order, we will contact you as soon as possible to offer an appropriate solution, including a refund if the order cannot be fulfilled.
Your statutory consumer rights remain unaffected.
3. Pre-Orders
Some Artifice products are available for pre-order before production has been completed.
When purchasing a pre-order item, the expected delivery period is indicated on the product page before purchase.
Pre-order periods may be longer than those of products immediately available in stock.
If your order contains both available and pre-order items, we may contact you to arrange either a combined shipment or separate deliveries, depending on your preference and the available options.
If we are unable to meet the agreed delivery date or period, we will contact you as soon as possible.
You retain your legal rights in the event of a delivery delay, including the right to request delivery within an appropriate additional period and, where the legal conditions are met, cancel your order and obtain a refund. In certain circumstances, cancellation may be possible without an additional period.
Pre-order items are subject to the statutory right of withdrawal in the same way as our other standard clothing items.
4. Orders and Payment
To place an order, select your products, confirm your shopping cart, enter the required information and complete payment through our secure checkout.
Before confirming your purchase, you can review your selected products, delivery information, applicable charges and final order amount.
By confirming an order requiring payment, you acknowledge your obligation to pay the displayed total.
An order confirmation will be sent to the email address provided during checkout.
We accept the payment methods available at checkout, including Shopify Payments and PayPal where offered.
We may cancel or refuse an order for legitimate reasons, including suspected fraud, payment failure or an objective inability to fulfil the order.
If an order is cancelled after payment has been received, we will refund the amounts due in accordance with applicable law.
Please make sure that your delivery address and contact information are accurate. If you notice a mistake, contact us as soon as possible at artifice.garments@gmail.com.
5. Prices and Shipping Costs
Product prices are displayed on our website in the currency selected or shown for your location.
Prices include applicable VAT where required. The transaction currency, delivery charges and total amount payable to Artifice are displayed before payment.
Available delivery methods and shipping costs depend on the destination and the contents of your order.
Free shipping may be available depending on the order value and destination. The applicable thresholds and conditions are displayed at checkout.
We may change our prices, promotional offers or shipping rates for future purchases.
Changes will not affect the agreed price of an order already concluded, except where a modification is expressly agreed upon or legally permitted.
Import duties and other charges relating to international deliveries are addressed in the section below.
6. Shipping and Delivery
We ship orders from France to the countries available at checkout.
Deliveries are mainly handled by UPS.
Shipping costs, available delivery methods and the applicable delivery period are communicated before the order is confirmed.
For products available in stock, we aim to prepare and dispatch orders as quickly as possible.
For pre-order products, the delivery period communicated on the product page applies.
Once your order has been dispatched, you will normally receive an email containing your tracking information.
Delivery may be affected by circumstances such as customs procedures, transportation disruptions or other events outside our direct control.
If your order is delayed, lost or damaged during delivery, please contact us so we can investigate the situation with the carrier.
Artifice remains responsible for the delivery of your order in accordance with applicable consumer law. Where delivery is handled by a carrier offered by Artifice, the risk of loss or damage normally remains with us until you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, physically receive the goods.
If we fail to deliver within the agreed period, you may exercise your statutory rights concerning delayed delivery.
7. International Orders and Customs Duties
For deliveries outside the European Union, import duties, customs clearance fees and local taxes may apply.
These charges depend on the destination country and its import regulations.
Where additional import charges are payable by the customer, we will provide the legally required information before the order is confirmed.
United States
For deliveries to the United States, Artifice may organise shipping under Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) conditions.
Under this arrangement, Artifice handles the payment of applicable import duties through the shipping or customs process.
Where the customer has agreed to pay a separate amount covering these charges, a payment request may be sent before shipment.
Any mandatory additional charges must be disclosed and agreed to before purchase in accordance with applicable law.
If an unexpected charge that was not previously agreed to becomes necessary, we will contact you to discuss the available options, including cancellation and a full refund. No such additional payment will be imposed unilaterally.
Other International Destinations
For destinations such as Canada, New Zealand and other countries where import charges apply, customs duties and local taxes may be collected directly by the carrier or customs authorities before delivery.
Where properly disclosed before purchase, these charges are the responsibility of the customer.
If a parcel is refused or cannot be delivered, please contact us so we can review the situation and determine the appropriate solution.
Any return costs, deductions or refunds will be handled in accordance with applicable law and your statutory consumer rights.
Refusing a parcel does not automatically replace a formal withdrawal request.
8. Returns, Exchanges and Right of Withdrawal
Not satisfied with your order? You may request a return in accordance with our Refund Policy and applicable law.
Consumers entitled to the statutory right of withdrawal generally have fourteen (14) calendar days after receiving their order to notify us of their decision to withdraw, without having to provide a reason.
Where products from the same order are delivered separately, the period generally starts when the last item is received.
You may exercise this right through our online return portal or by contacting us at artifice.garments@gmail.com. You may also use the standard withdrawal form available in our Refund Policy.
Once you have notified us of your withdrawal, you have another fourteen (14) calendar days to send back the products.
Return shipping costs following a change of mind are the responsibility of the customer, provided the required information has been communicated before purchase.
When withdrawing from an entire order, the original standard delivery costs are also refunded. Additional charges resulting from choosing a more expensive delivery service do not have to be refunded.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method within the legally required period. We may postpone reimbursement until we receive the returned goods or proof that they have been sent back, whichever occurs first.
You may try on clothing to check its size and appearance. Where an item has lost value due to handling beyond what is necessary for normal inspection, a proportionate deduction may apply as permitted by law.
Size Exchanges
If the size does not fit, we may offer a voluntary exchange depending on product availability.
For voluntary size exchanges, return shipping and the delivery costs of the replacement item are the responsibility of the customer.
These conditions do not apply where a return or replacement is required because of a defect, an incorrect item or a lack of conformity covered by statutory consumer rights.
Please refer to our Refund Policy for further information.
9. Legal Guarantees
All products sold by Artifice are covered by the legal guarantees applicable under French consumer law.
These guarantees apply independently of our voluntary return and exchange policy.
Legal Guarantee of Conformity
For new goods, consumers benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity for two years from delivery.
During this period, the consumer must establish the existence of the lack of conformity, but does not have to prove when it first appeared.
Where the product does not conform to the contract, the consumer may request repair or replacement without cost or significant inconvenience, within thirty days of the request.
When a product is repaired under the legal guarantee, the original guarantee period is extended by six months. If the consumer requests repair but the seller imposes replacement, a new two-year guarantee period begins on delivery of the replacement.
The consumer may obtain a price reduction or terminate the sale and receive a refund against return of the item in the circumstances provided by law, including where repair or replacement is refused, delayed beyond the legal period, causes major inconvenience or does not resolve the problem.
An immediate price reduction or termination may also be available where the lack of conformity is sufficiently serious.
Termination of the sale is not available for a minor lack of conformity, except where otherwise provided by law.
Any period during which the product is unavailable for repair or replacement suspends the remaining legal guarantee period until the product is returned in conformity.
These rights arise under Articles L.217-1 to L.217-32 of the French Consumer Code. A seller acting in bad faith to prevent their implementation may incur the civil penalties provided by Article L.241-5.
Guarantee Against Hidden Defects
Consumers also benefit from the guarantee against hidden defects under Articles 1641 to 1649 of the French Civil Code.
Where the legal conditions are met, the consumer may request a price reduction while keeping the product or a full refund against its return.
This right must generally be exercised within two years of discovering the hidden defect.
How to Make a Claim
If you receive an incorrect, damaged or non-conforming item, please contact us at artifice.garments@gmail.com with your order number and details of the issue.
We will examine your request and provide a solution in accordance with your legal rights.
Where a product is covered by a statutory guarantee, the applicable return, repair or replacement costs will be handled by Artifice as required by law.

13. Applicable Law and Disputes
These Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law.
This choice of law does not deprive consumers residing in another country of the mandatory protections applicable to them under relevant consumer protection rules.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an amicable solution.
If no agreement can be reached, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts in accordance with applicable law.
14. Changes to These Conditions
We may update these Terms and Conditions of Sale to reflect changes in our business or applicable law.
Any updates will be published on this page.
The conditions applicable to an order are those in force when the order was placed. Changes will not retroactively alter an existing contract without a valid legal basis or the customer's agreement.
